at 10 AM Point Prim
Join local Biology teachers Churchill Page and Greg
Turner at Point Prim as they explore the intertidal zone on one of North
Americas most diverse shorelines.
Plan
to spend a few hours rambling along the rocks learning about the region’s high
tides, unique geology and the incredible variety of rocky shore plants and
animals.
Come prepared to poke around in
tide pools and look under sea weed in search of elusive sea anemones, periwinkles, whelks and
barnacles.
Help us find some of nature’s tastiest seaweeds.
Be prepared as follows: Sturdy footwear with good tread
(rubber boots if you really want to get into the tide pools), windbreaker. Pack
a lunch and plan to sit on the rocks and enjoy the seaside vista after the
ramble.
Please Note: Families with children are encouraged, however, the rocks
are slippery and it is an area that requires strict supervision of children at
all times.
