My experience as Scallop Days Queen 2006 was a fantastic learning journey for me. I became Scallops Days Queen in the summer of 2006, and began participating in events right away. Events over the year included being in countless parades and teas, two town rallies, and of course represent my town as Princess Digby 2007 in the 75th Apple Blossom Festival. The entire year taught me a lot about myself, enabled me to improve my public speaking and interviewing skills, and also boosted my self confidence in my abilities. I met so many amazing people, created lasting friendships, and made memories that will last a lifetime. Near the end of my reign I tried to become as involved as possible in recruiting candidates for Scallops Days in the summer of 2007. It was such a great experience for me, and even participating in the Scallop Days Queen selection process would be a great learning experience for anyone. I would encourage anyone eligible to run in future years. Lastly, a big congratulations to this year’s Scallop Days Queen 2007 Amanda Walker and all the other princesses.
